Leaving YNAB?

YNAB went from $84 to $109 a year. Same method, $39, and your data comes with you.

YNAB is a good app that got expensive. Budgetfold runs the same zero-based method, imports YNAB's register and plan files directly, and never asks for a bank login.

What carries over

Every transaction with account, payee, category, memo and cleared state, from Register.csv.
Every month's assigned amounts from Plan.csv, so your history of "what did I budget for groceries in March" survives.
Your category structure, groups and all, created on import.

What does not

Bank connections. Budgetfold has none; you import a CSV from your bank when you want to.
Goal settings. YNAB's export does not include them; set them again in a few minutes.
Reports beyond the month view, for now.

How to export from YNAB

Open your plan on the web. Click the plan name, top left → Export Plan.
Unzip. You get Register.csv and Plan.csv.
In Budgetfold: Import → choose Register.csv → Import. Then the same for Plan.csv.
