Mint is gone. Your transactions.csv still works.

Intuit closed Mint and pointed 13 million people at Credit Karma. If you kept the CSV export, Budgetfold reads it as is and rebuilds your accounts and categories. If you moved to Monarch or YNAB since, those export too.

The facts. Mint stopped on 23 March 2024 (Intuit's announced date; Wikipedia). In 2020 it had 13 million registered users. "mint alternative" is still searched about 720 times a month in the US, 7 September 2026.

Mint was free because it sold your attention

Budgetfold is $39 a year because it does not. There are no offers, no credit-score upsell and no bank connection to maintain. What you get is the envelope method Mint never had: money is assigned before it is spent, not categorised after.

From Mint's CSV

  1. Find your transactions.csv. Columns are Date, Description, Original Description, Amount, Transaction Type, Category, Account Name.
  2. Import → choose the file. Debits become spending, credits become inflows, Mint categories become Budgetfold categories.
  3. Press Find recurring charges on Bills & subscriptions to rebuild your subscription list from the history.
